Museum Admission

The Museum is located inside the world-famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval. Access to the Museum parking area is free except during Speedway events, when IMS charges an admission fee or requires a ticket or credential to access the facility. The Speedway's event admission fee, tickets or credentials do not provide admission to the Museum.

Location, Directions & Parking

The Museum is located inside the IMS oval between Turns 1 and 2. Enter the grounds via Gate 2, the four-lane tunnel 1/4-mile east of the 16th Street & Crawfordsville Rd. roundabout. For GPS purposes, use this address: 4750 W. 16th St., Speedway, IN, 46224. Parking at the Museum is free except during official IMS events or private facility rentals/events.

Cultural institutions around the state are proud to join forces and make fun family learning more accessible. Indiana families that meet the required criteria can visit all participating locations for just $2 per family member per visit, for up to two adults and dependent youth living in the household.   • Free, accessible parking is available to the south and west of the Museum building, with appropriate curb cuts and ramps to facilitate entry into the building.
  • We have a limited number of wheelchairs available for guest use.
  • Four of our tour buses are wheelchair accessible.
  • The Museum elevator is ADA compliant.
  • Our theatre has space for wheelchairs and is ADA compliant.
  • We welcome service animals.
  • Printed transcriptions of our 8-minute history video and bus tour narration are available for guests with hearing impairments.
  • Our Museum Hosts can lead guests with severe vision impairments through a special touch tour of select vehicles in our collection.
