Firestone at the "500"
Open through November 2026
Located in the Mezzanine
Firestone at the “500” showcases the partnership between Firestone and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. As Harvey Firestone said, the Speedway is “the great outdoor laboratory” and for more than a century has served as the place where the brand perfected pioneering breakthroughs like Gum Dipping and modern slick race tires in the heat of competition. Since 1900, Firestone continues the relentless pursuit of making the best tires for both the track and the roads you drive on every day.
The exhibit features multiple displays including rarely seen artifacts, tires and memorabilia from the museum and the Firestone Archives and showcases some of the legendary drivers that have won the Indy 500 on Firestone tires including Mario Andretti, Al Unser, Parnelli Jones and reigning winner, Alex Palou. From a replica 1932 Gum-Dipped tire, to original telegrams between Harvey Firestone and racing legends, to Parnelli Jones’ “490” jacket, there is something for everyone.
TAG Heuer x Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Open through October 2026
Located in the Mezzanine
For more than 20 years, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and TAG Heuer have been connected as the Official Timekeeper and Score Keeper. To celebrate this milestone together, TAG Heuer has curated a dedicated exhibition to share the history of this relationship, dating back to the 1960s, through incredible special watches that have been exceptionally loaned for the presentation at the IMS Museum. From special pieces featuring the Wings and Wheel logo, to celebrity provenance including the personal watch and stopwatch of James Garner, this exhibition presents a unique opportunity to see these incredible watches outside their home at the TAG Heuer Museum in Switzerland.
