U. E. Patrick

U. E. “PAT” PATRICK enjoyed 45 victories in either USAC or CART (Championship Auto Racing Teams) competition, winning the Indianapolis 500 in 1973 and 1982 and the 1976 USAC National Championship title with driver Gordon Johncock, along with the 1989 “500” and CART title with former two-time World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi. Patrick’s team enjoyed many successes between 1973 and 1980 with chief mechanic George Bignotti, Patrick’s roster of notable drivers at one time or another, in addition to Johncock and Fittipaldi including Mario Andretti, Al Unser, Johnny Rutherford, Wally Dallenbach, Roberto Guerrero, Raul Boesel, Kevin Cogan, Chip Ganassi and Jimmy Vasser.
