1992 STP/ Pontiac Grand Prix

Driven by: Richard Petty

This 1992 STP Racing Pontiac Grand Prix was originally built by Petty Enterprises in Level, North Carolina, in the fall of 1990 and raced at short track races in 1991 and 1992. The body, painted in Petty blue and STP day-glo red, is styled with protruding wheel wells to help protect the car from incidental bumps in the tight corners and close side-by-side racing common to the NASCAR Winston Cup short tracks. The engine is a 359 C.I. small block cast iron Chevy with aluminum Pontiac racing heads. It was also assembled in Petty’s shop in Level Cross and generates over 650 horsepower.
