The reimagined Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum is the perfect venue to host your next event. The iconic cars and exhibits provide a unique setting for a multitude of events, from daytime corporate gatherings to evening receptions and seated dinners.

The Museum’s curated exhibits and rotating galleries, many included in your rental, serve as a one-of-a-kind backdrop. Guests can explore a distinctive venue with a rich history of celebrating and preserving the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Indianapolis 500. Exclusive tours and experiences can be added for additional fees.

Explore the spaces

Take advantage of the nearly 16,000 square feet of event space throughout the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. With seven permanent and three rotating galleries, there’s more room to create a fully immersive event experience. From new exhibits like Gasoline Alley and Qualifying Zone to familiar favorites like the Indianapolis 500 Winners Gallery and the Borg-Warner trophy, guests will have plenty to explore.

Serving as the Museum’s main event space, the Atrium is the ideal choice for your special event. Flanked by the John H. Holliday Family Indianapolis 500 Winners Gallery and the grand staircase to the Mezzanine, the open floor plan makes for a visually stunning setting perfect for seated dinners, receptions, or celebrations.

Located adjacent to the interactive Qualifying Zone, the Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation Innovation Workshop is the ideal option for meetings and smaller gatherings. This space offers a flexible room layout and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) activities, such as an aerodynamics wall, wind tunnel, and gravity race track, if requested.

The Starting Line Experience will immerse guests in what it feels like to be at the starting line of the Indianapolis 500. Engage in Race Day traditions with a seamless blend of cutting-edge technology, imagery, and replica cars from the previous “500”. A picture-perfect setting for any event.

Host your event in a gallery curated and dedicated to the history and success of Team Penske. The Penske Gallery will feature six cars from the collection of Roger Penske along with a display of his “Baby Borgs” celebrating the team's 20 Indianapolis 500 wins.

The Track Lounge offers a more casual space on the lower level of the Museum. With room for a seated dinner or a standing reception, this is a great option for evening events. The Track Lounge also offers photo opportunities and an interactive track map where guests can see the evolution of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

frequently asked questions

Can I use my own caterer/food and beverage?

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum requires private event rentals to work with our required/preferred vendor partners.

What is the maximum number of guests?

The maximum number of guests varies between events, with seated-style dinners having a different capacity than standing receptions. Events with more than 300 guests require a full Museum buyout.

What days/times can I host an event at the Museum?

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum can host events Monday through Sunday. We have smaller meeting rooms for daytime event rentals between 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Evening events can start as early as 6:30 p.m. Event extensions are available and may require additional fees.

Event availability is subject to approval by the IMS Museum and may be affected by Indianapolis Motor Speedway on-track activities and events.

Are track tours included with my rental?

Track tours are available for additional costs and are subject to tour type and track rental fees.
