Our event facilities are located within the Indianapolis Motor Speedway—between Turns 1 and 2 of the famous 2.5-mile racetrack. From this location, you can host an unforgettable event surrounded by beautiful artwork, racing memorabilia, and some of the most historic vehicles in the world. 

    The Museum also offers a variety of tour options for guests during your private event. When the track is available, your guests can go behind the scenes at the Pagoda, stand atop Victory Podium, and stop to Kiss the Bricks! Guests can even pose for a picture inside a real IndyCar, giving them a priceless memento of their event experience.

    Ideal for cocktail receptions and intimate dinners, the North Hall offers 180-degree views of the Speedway’s infield, including the Pagoda, scoring pylon and Road Course. Guests will have access to browse all main floor exhibits, while nestled amongst distinctive and interactive displays. The North Hall is home to the Museum’s most fan-centric exhibition to date, “TRADITIONS”, making for a truly unique event experience. This space can be configured as a banquet hall seating 50 or a social gathering with a capacity of 150

    Our main daytime event space is The Gallery—a 1400 sq. ft. room featuring a current, rotating exhibition. Your facility rental also includes admission to the Museum, so your guests are invited to enjoy our world-class collection during breaks or after your event. 

    The Gallery can be configured in a variety of formations to suit your needs, including tables of eight, classroom seating, theater seating, U-shape or boardroom style. Some memorabilia and artwork can be moved to accommodate your event, and our events team will work with you on setup to ensure you have a wonderful event.

    For after-hours events, your guests will have exclusive access to the Museum Atrium, centrally located on the main museum floor. The Atrium is flanked on each side by historic race car exhibitions, showcasing our Indy 500 winners and an in-depth look at stories from the track.

    This almost 2000 sq. ft. event space is perfect for an upscale cocktail reception or a sit-down dinner soiree. During your event, guests can also explore the rest of the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum, including the Gallery and the North Roomwhich offers 180-degree views of the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval.

Facility Rentals FAQ

We provide basic set-up needs, including: pre-event planning support, cocktail tables for evening events, complimentary parking in the Museum lot, and security. Evening rentals also come with exclusive use of the Museum exhibition areas. Tables, chairs, and linens can be coordinated through our catering partners.

Events may begin one hour after the Museum closes to the public. Facility rentals begin at 6:30 PM and end at 10 PM. There are times when our hours of operation may vary, and timing for facility rentals will adjust accordingly.

Yes. When the track is active, certain restrictions come into play. Our events team will provide you with all the necessary information and work with you to ensure you have a wonderful event.

If your event takes place during track activities, you will need to purchase general admission tickets for your guests. Evening events do not require general admission if they take place after the gates have closed and the track activity has ended.

When the track is available, the Museum offers a variety of tour options that can be added for guests of your private event. All track tours are subject to availability, and need to be coordinated with the Museum in advance of your event. Additional charges apply.

Depending on the event layout and space, we can accommodate up to 150 guests at a sit-down reception or 800 guests at a cocktail reception. Our events team will work with you to accommodate your group needs within the space.
