Through the education programs at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum, we strive to tell the stories of the incredible innovations, people, and lessons learned on and off the track. As the IMS Museum moves forward with new exhibits featuring one-of-a-kind objects from our collection, education becomes more essential and accessible. We have provided several resources below to help you learn more about the history of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Indianapolis 500.
The “May Kids/Mary’s Kids” programming was ceased in 2020 due to COVID-19. It has not been reinstated for 2022. We will reevaluate this decision on an annual basis.

Please note that IMS practice day tickets (more information) do not include admission to the Museum, as we are separate operating entities.
The lesson plans and resources below are designed to get your students excited about their visit to the Museum and enhance their time while they are here. They can also be used as supplemental materials for Indiana history lessons or to help new race fans learn more about “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”
All materials are owned by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. They may be used by individuals, schools or libraries for study, research or classroom teaching without permission.
